NEWS | Raising Tsunami Awareness and Preparedness in Bangladeshi Schools

1 March 2018: The long coastal belt of Bangladesh is vulnerable to Tsunamis but not many people are aware of it. UNDP Bangladesh with the financial support from the Government of Japan has initiated a project on awareness raising on tsunamis among the school children. Five schools were selected from the tsunami vulnerable regions of Cox’s Bazar and Moheshkhali Upazilla to assess schools' tsunami risk, develop schools' emergency plans and conduct evacuation drills.
