Namsai Petite Engineer's video for the campaign was a lighthearted mash-up of history, comedy, and cosplay to show parallels between misinformation today and erroneous medical treatments recommended in the time of the Black Plague.

As part of UNDP’s wider commitment to counter hate speech and misinformation amidst the current coronavirus crisis, a social media campaign called 'Creators Against Covid' was formulated, also known a #SehatAntiHoax.

Building on the success of this year’s YouTube Creators for Change programme, the regional UNDP team and UNDP Country Offices in Thailand and Indonesia independently collaborated with seven YouTube creators to develop a video campaign on issues that relate to COVID-19, such as misinformation and disinformation, debunking COVID-related conspiracies, tackling discrimination against Asian communities, and supporting doctors facing stigma. The nine videos received a total of 2,356,797 views, 117,712 thumbs up and 8,949 comments (as of 24 Sep 2020). Of the total audience who engaged in the thumbs up/down feature on the videos, 98.9% gave positive responses.

The success of the collaboration shows that engagement with online influencers remains important to build networks of credible messengers that diversify the reach of counter-misinformation and alternative-narrative messages to youth audiences.
