July 27, 2015

This case study brief discusses the process and results of direct nutrition investments through school feeding programmes in India, building upon the experience of the Indian state Tamil Nadu.

The brief illustrates that direct nutrition interventions, particularly through targeted feeding programmes can contribute to the realization of the right to food with the potential to address other critical development concerns, such as poverty, hunger-nutrition, health, education and social equity.
